“This world has always seemed to me to be somewhat strange, somewhat alien to all of my emotions”. An alien is a foreigner, an outcast and, in popular culture, an inhabitant from another planet. Tesa Arranz, a key figure in the 1980s Madrid scene and the lead singer of the Zombies, has painted over 500 portraits of outer-space creatures during the last decade.

Recorre, observa, y examina el estado del departamento, tan suyo como ajeno. Toma su celular y marca. Suena el timbre del teléfono en la casa. Deja un mensaje escuchándose a sí misma. El mensaje se corta, ella no puede dejar de hablar.
Jimena keeps the keys from her former house, actually occupied by her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend. Jimena knows that there is nobody home, and goes inside. She walks around, observes and inspects the state of the apartment, so much hers as somebody else’s. She gets her cellphone and dials. The house phone rings. She leaves a message while listening herself talking. The message ends, and she can’t stop talking.

Valiéndose de la celebración de la víspera de Santa Águeda —una tradición Vasca en la que la gente, acompañada de bertsolaris, se desplaza de casa en casa en un ambiente festivo cantando versos al ritmo de sus bastones—, la bertsolari Maialen Lujanbio hace una denuncia descarnada de la violencia de género. Verso tras verso, se denuncian las diversas manifestaciones de la violencia machista, así como nuestra imposibilidad de superarla. Con la excusa de estas coplas, veinte jóvenes artistas dirigen una obra de creación colectiva, empleando diferentes técnicas de animación.
St. Agatha’s Eve is a deep-rooted Basque tradition in which people walk from house to house, accompanied by improvised verse-makers (bertsolaris), singing verses to the beating of long sticks. Building on this celebration, bertsolari Maialen Lujanbio composes a stark denunciation of gender violence. In verse after verse, she condemns the different manifestations of sexist violence and our inability to combat it. Based on these couplets, twenty young artists direct a collective-created piece, using different animation techniques.

Tres americanos aceptaron testificar en voz en off sobre su experiencia, que paradójicamente está llena de intimidades y crueldad, con imágenes aéreas que podrían haber grabado ellos mismos, para “Encontrar, Fijar, Acabar”.
“In Afghanistan, I saw a couple making love on a roof”: we know very little of the day-to-day work of the pilots carrying out “targeted assassinations” with military drones. Three Americans agreed to testify in voiceover about their experience, which is paradoxically one of intimacy and cruelty, over aerial images.

A young woman comes back home. She gets undressed, puts on her swimsuit, and sinks into the underwater depths of her apartment. Overcomed by a baroque aquatic flora, her home has become the ecosystem of her spouse: an octopus. Until the following morning, she complies with this hostile, wet and suffocating environment that is now her everyday life with her man (octopus).
