And Then They Burn the Sea is an elegiac contemplation on familial memory and loss. The filmmaker ruminates on the experience of bearing witness to his mother’s gradual and terminal memory loss. Weaving through a personal family archive, re-enacted dreams, and rituals, the film underlines the promise of cinema as a medium for memories even at their most irretrievable.

A traveller visits his childhood city, in a former oil drilling area in Northern China. Haunted by his memories, he gradually loses himself in a dreamlike space, going from an ultra-modern city to a ghost town where he himself can no longer differentiate between what is real or imaginary.

Fabian puts together shows at a party room, one of them is a Serrat tribute act, in which he is the performer on stage. Fabian is frustrated because the belly dancer is the clients’ number one choice. This time, he’ll do whatever it takes to be picked out, even if he has to play dirty against his colleague and test his moral limits.

Future Foods nos acerca a los talleres de Replica LTD en Londres, una fábrica de comida de plástico que realize attrezzo para cine, publicidad y escaparates. La percepción de la comida y su palatabilidad a través de una imagen construida, entra en juego al observar estos procesos artesanales a través de la cámara. Una conversación de teléfono nos introduce una start-up finlandesa. Su CEO nos presenta una tecnología de última generación en la producción de comida, la proteína «solein» creada a partir de agua, electricidad y secuestro de CO₂.
Future Foods revolves around the making of plastic food at the workshops of Replica LTD, one of the few UK-based companies that still manufactures props for films, advertisements, and displays. The perception of food, its appeal, and palatability through a constructed image, come into play when observing these hand-crafted manufacturing processes through a camera. A phone conversation with the CEO of a Finnish future foods start-up introduces us to a cutting-edge technology consisting of the production of a new protein generated from water, electricity, and CO₂ captured from the air. Solein is a new technology that speculates a near future without agriculture and land-use effects.
