On the 20th of December, 1989, a few days after Ceaușescu’s bloody repression in Timișoara, a father’s quiet evening turns to sheer ordeal as he finds out that his little son has mailed a wish letter to Santa. As the kid understood it, his father’s desire was to see Ceaușescu dead.

This film captures the concrete manifestation of worship that is translated into ritualized practices and performances, a mass jubilation and a consumerist mass.

It brings up questions: can we still live a spiritual experience in these new consumerist sanctuaries? Do spectators succeed in creating their own subversive experience as so many individuals constituting a mass?

Se encuentran con Leakhena, una joven vendedora callejera cuyo carro está lleno de colores.

Por casualidad, Elinborg se encuentra con su amiga Marita en el supermercado. Su conversación es algo incómoda, ya que Elinborg se ha olvidado del cumpleaños de Marita. Después de un torpe abrazo, cada una vuelve a lo suyo, aunque una pregunta persigue a Marita: ¿Elinborg la habrá eliminado de su lista de amigos en Facebook? Decide preguntárselo, y el supermercado no tarda en convertirse en un espeluznante laberinto en el que Marita desesperadamente intenta descubrir cómo ha podido “perder una amiga”.

Elinborg accidentally runs into her friend Marita at the grocery store. The conversation is civil yet slightly awkward, as Elinborg has forgotten Marita´s birthday. After a timid hug, they both return to their shopping. However, something is nagging Marita, who decides to corner her friend and ask if Elinborg has blocked her on Facebook? Soon the grocery store turns into a nightmarish maze, as Marita desperately tries to find out, why she has “lost a friend”.

Muchas ciudades o países sufren un malestar particular. Lugares como Portugal, sumidos en un doloroso anhelo del pasado, y donde cada tensión del presente es sólo la punta de un iceberg que se explica en sucesivos retrocesos que pueden remontarse hasta el origen de las especies, por lo menos. Este sentimiento común a muchas latitudes se presenta a menudo como un diagnóstico, una negación de un presente doloroso, en oposición al deseo de regresar a un pasado glorioso. 

Many cities or countries have a distinct malaise. They are places that could be Portugal, so sunk in a painful longing of the past, and where each tension of the present is only the tip of an iceberg that is explained in successive retreats that can go straight until origin of the species, at least. This feeling common to many latitudes is often presented as a diagnosis, a denial of a painful present as opposed to the desire to return to a glorious past.

Mind My Mind / En mente mi mente

Chris, un hombre con síndrome de Asperger camufla su obsesión con los bombarderos, junto con Hans, que vive en su cabeza y prepara sus guiones sociales. Cuando la zoóloga Gwen invita a Chris a conocer a su camaleón favorito, él avanza rápidamente con un guión de coqueteo. Luego el camaleón muere y Gwen acude a Chris en busca de apoyo.

Chris, a man with Asperger’s syndrome camouflages his obsession with dive bombers, together with Hans, who lives in his head and prepares his social scripts. When zoologist Gwen invites Chris to meet her favourite chameleon, he expeditiously moves ahead with a flirt script. Then the chameleon dies and Gwen turns to Chris for support.
